Encryption support for VNC Websockets in QEMU

thardeck edited this page Jul 1, 2013 · 11 revisions

Description

QEMU does now support VNC over Websockets but the support for encrypted connections over TLS is still missing:

  • Use GnuTLS for the encryption part
  • Examine if parts of the QEMU VNC TLS implementation could be reused
  • For reference check Libvnc Websocket implementation
  • Test final encryption support with noVNC

People

Tim Hardeck originated this idea.

Status

My implementation was accepted upstream without any further changes from their side: 0057a0d59006d00c294de0b012d9a290eb1a5c80

It will be shipped with QEMU 1.5.
