Dialogs and vnc-connection is permanently in landscape mode

Some handsets don't have hardware keyboard, and soft-keyboard in landscape mode
is
uncomfortable

Holding phone in portrait mode is much more comfortable, especially for
keyboard input.

Could we have a portrait mode please?

I suggest: default to portrait in initial 'new connection' screen, then default
to landscape in vnc
mode, unless settings say otherwise.

Agreed, especially because my software keyboard of choice (Swype) is
significantly more usable in portrait mode than in landscape. Please provide
some way of operating in portrait mode.

VNC viewer should operate in whichever mode the user is using the device. It
should not force a mode.

I have no idea why the development have refused to implement this trivial
feature request. I did it and amattaching a file (hopefully).

Portrait mode is perfect, especially for a larger screen device like samsung
note or a tablet. Also, ability to rotate between landscape and portrait and
then have the screen auto-fit, would be awesome.

I used the android.androidVNC-1.apk attachment posted by business...@gmail.com,
and it works for me. Useful because I sometimes like to view an A4 document in
portrait mode, and it's annoying that you're forced to do something non-VNC in
order to do this. Nice!

This is just to confirm that the attached .apk doesn't install on my (pretty
old) device.
