SFDC Custom Links should be able to set batch entry page defaults via URL params. This would include both field values and whether "sticky" is enabled.

One use case is batch entering child records for a specific master record. A custom link/button on the master record could set the value of the lookup field and make it sticky so that all batch entered records are assigned to the correct master.

normalBatchLinkHere?my_custom_field__c__value=001x000000xxxx&my_custom_field__c__sticky=true

Yeah, its not too difficult to add. We'll do it for the next BDE release, or if somebody submits it before then, we can make it available.

Thanks, I hadn’t used batch entry before, but the customer asked that entering a list of attendees should be as easy as excel and was blown away when I demoed it.
