In this 1 hour workshop we will discuss how pipeline design can assist in project and data management. We will demonstrate a few Python libraries that are frequently used in this context.

Time and place

When: 19-12-2017, 17:00- 18:00

a laptop with Python2 or Python3
We will only use standard libraries. It is convenient if you can use a Python notebook (e.g. Jupyter notebook, or IPython notebook), but not necessary.

#Prior knowledge
check out:


  • Reproducability, using scripts instead of e.g. Excel
  • variables, for-loops, glob module
  • using the commandline, os module, man, -h --help
  • If-statements
  • Organization, pipeline design
  • argparse module
