Remove powershell alias in curl package

When install curl on powershell4, curl will be still aliased to Invoke-WebRequest. To overcome this curl package should probably remove alias after installation, something like this:

rm alias:curl

I think it's unfortunate that the Powershell team thought it was good to use wget and curl for aliases, but I don't think scoop should do anything about it. What if the user is using any of those aliases deliberately, or has aliased another command with them? It's unlikely, but still possible.

In my opinion, the best thing to do would be to add a note in the docs warning about conflicting Powershell aliases.

In the end, you can always find the tools installed via scoop as curl.cmd, wget.ps1, etc.

Oh wow, I'm amazed the PS team thought that was a good idea. Those program names are practically trademarked. I agree with @guillermooo though—it's not Scoop's place to override the defaults.

There's a similar problem with r being mapped to invoke-history, which sucks if you install R.

I think it'd be appropriate to remove these aliases in Pshazz though—do you guys use that? We could have a "Sane Aliases" plugin or something.

I haven't tried Pshazz myself. I've meant to, but I'm a Mercurial person and never found the urge to, since hg-git works fine for me. But I agree it would be a better place to clean up default aliases, etc.

Hey guys, if you're still interested in this—I've just added an aliases plugin to pshazz which removes the curl, wget and r aliases by default. Because pshazz is theme-able, you can customize aliases even further (e.g. my theme).

I've also integrated Jeremy Skinner's Posh-Hg if you'd like to check that out @guillermooo.

To automatically remove the curl alias every time PowerShell starts, you'll need to update your profile:

• Check if PowerShell profile exists: test-path $profile
• Create profile if one doesn't exist: new-item $profile
• Edit the profile: notepad $profile
• Add the following like: remove-item alias:curl
• Apply the new profile: . $profile
