I bring you a bugfix release.

In this release these bugs have been squashed:

  • Animated powerlines no longer draw over ship desciriptions in the Shipyard
  • Only Unzervalt will be named Unzervalt
  • Fixed various other planet name discrepencies
  • Isolated the Android specific controls to fix gamepad controls on non-Android devices

As in the last release, the Android version is a proof-of-concept and isn't supported.
The macOS version may also only work between Snow Leopard and High Sierra.

Oh no! It's one of those ultra-gross humans again!

Here I go again with a new release of the MegaMod and it's a doozy. I've made quite a few changes and addition including adding difficulty modes, an Extended Lore mode, a Nomad mode (no access to the Earth starbase), and much more. It's too much to recount here but you can access the online Changelog at the website: http://megamod.serosis.net/Features

A changelog also ships with the release in plain text along with a readme that gives the rundown on all the new options in the Setup Menu.

Remember that if you download the portable, Linux, or macOS version that you'll need to download the extra content files from the website: http://megamod.serosis.net/Releases

Also for the Portable Windows version make sure to run the shortcuts and not the main EXE so you can take full advantage of the portability. (Or make sure to run the EXE with the commandline trigger -C config)

The Android version is merely a proof-of-concept and is not supported. There are bugs that range from mild annoyance (The OSK sitting at the edge of the screen) to complete game crashes and lockups.
Proceed at your own peril.

The macOS version may only work for OS X Snow Leopard through High Sierra. I do not have a Mac capable of running Mojave to check.

Changelog

New Stuff:

  • Massive graphics overhaul
  • Race specific ambient space music when inside a race's sphere of influence (Composed by Volasaurus)
  • Quasiportal exits now randomized with the custom seed system
  • Quasiportals stay "unknown" when custom seeds are enabled
  • Increment Fuel/Crew by min/max using the End/Home keys

  • Fix graphical bug in the custom border UI when choosing 3DO fonts

Removed stuff:

  • Removed the alternate Thraddash storyline
  • Autoload support for the alt-Kohr-Ah Ship design
  • Autoload support for the Orange Peel Melnorme

The Windows installer can download all the packages you need automatically, but for any other version you can head on over to the BonePit and pick out your packages manually under Optional Content

A Debian package will come later. Though, unfortunately, a macOS version may not come unless I can find a way to build and test on macOS Mojave (My iMac only has access to macOS High Sierra and is non-upgradeable according to Apple).

Brief Changelog

  • 3DO Videos now scaled in HD (Thanks to SlightlyIntelligentMonkey)
  • New custom seed system in place to allow for randomizing of solar systems
  • New custom border frame system to allow for reskinning of the UI (Thanks to SlightlyIntelligentMonkey for inspiration)
  • Intersect point to transition to orbit is now the outer edge of the planet in HD
  • Removed all reference to HD-2x graphics and added resolution scaling to HD-4x to replace it

In this release I've added support for Soul Reaver's Syreen Voice re-dub/fix addon voiced by Katie Otten.

Along with the new voice content I've also fixed a bug where if you choose to disable orbiting planets, Saturn's moon Titan is offset to the inside of the orbit line. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

When I find time I will package up macOS and Debian versions and upload them to this release later.

In this release I fixed a bug that that prevented you from buying fuel if you had Infinite R.U. toggled or when the Chmmr attach the Precursor bomb to the ship.

Lot of behind-the-scenes stuff to try and future proof the code. It can now be built on Visual Studio 2010-2017 and GCC7 with relative ease. Though I've yet to find a fix for the macOS orbit line bug that happens when you build the code on anything greater than Xcode 3.2.6

In other news I've dropped support for Sourceforge and am now hosting the website and content myself. It doesn't look different but the new address is http://megamod.serosis.net

What's New

  • No longer have to reload game when changing remix, voice, music, and video options
  • Game forces a restart when changing audio driver and audio quality (Like it should have in the first place)
  • Fixed a bug that wouldn't allow player to orbit any moons in the home Sol System without the Sol Textrues installed
  • Fixed a bug with the Ur-Quan fusion blaster where it would fire from the center of mass in HD.
  • Code can be successfully compiled on Linux using GCC 7.2.0 thanks to Martin Dimitrov
  • Tons of internal cleanups including a couple bug fixes from Louis Delacroix (Bug#1151) and David Benjamin (Bug#1163)
  • Added autoload support for Yellow F.R.I.E.D. and Orange Peel Melnorme.
