Slingshot

Introduction

Slingshot is a rapid migration tool for moving data from a legacy system (your old system) into Rock (your shiny new system). This project has separate utilities to run for each type of system (currently supports Church Community Builder (CCB) and F1). These utilities will take the data from the legacy system and create a .slingshot file. This file can then be imported to Rock from Admin Tools > Power Tools > Legacy Import.

Status

The Slingshot project is in the initial phase of development and is not ready for prime-time use. The source here is available for those adventurous souls who like to live on the edge, or who would like to help with the development of this project.

Contributing

If you would like to contribute to this project please contact Jon Edmiston (slack) to coordinate efforts. Several updates are currently in development and want to eliminate a duplication of efforts.

License

The .slingshot file format and the source code for the utilities are all copyrighted by Spark Development Network which makes them available under the Creative Commons ShareAlike license. This means that any organization is welcome to use these tools free of charge and even commercially. It does require though that any modifications or additions (including any new works that use the .slingshot file format) must be made available for all.
