Summary

In my user settings I have "remember_open_files": false and in my project setting file (.sublime-project) I have "remember_open_files": true. It seems Sublime Text only remembers project opened files if the project is closed with the "Close Project" command but completely forgets them if its window just gets closed with either "Alt+F4" or a mouse.

Expected behavior

Remember project opened files when Sublime Text window with opened project is closed without using "Close Project" command.

Actual behavior

Sublime Text forgets opened files and shows a blank tab the next time project is opened

Steps to reproduce

  1. Start Sublime Text
  2. Open project
  3. Open some files related to project
  4. Close Sublime Text window with a mouse or "Alt+F4" keyboard shortcut
  5. Start Sublime Text
  6. Open the same project

Environment

  • Operating system and version:
    • Ubuntu 16.04 x64
  • Sublime Text:
    • Build 3126
    • 64 bit

It seems the reason for this issue is the fact that Alt+F4 keypress is consumed by OS window manager and it never reaches ST at all.

Workaround: Alt+F4 reassign doesn’t work
