Could not get reference to iOS Calendar

This issue occurs when Team Calendar Sync cannot access your iOS Calendar data. Follow the steps below to fix the issue.

1: Check App Permissions

Check your iOS Settings to make sure you have allowed Team Calendar Sync access to your calendar.

2: Enable iCloud Calendars

Check to make sure that your iCloud calendars are enabled. Open your "Settings" and select "Mail, Contacts, Calendars". Then select your "iCloud" account. Then enable "Calendars" if it is not already enabled.

3: Set Default Calendar

Mark one of your iCloud calendars as your default calendar. This has helped a couple users who have run into this error. You can always change this back later after Team Calendar Sync is setup. From the "Settings" select "Mail, Contacts, Calendars". Then under "CALENDARS" select the "Default Calendar" option. Then select one of your "iCloud" calendars as the default (it doesn't matter which one).

4: Restart

At this point it can't hurt to restart your device. This will clear any existing activity.

5: Remove and Re-add Your Calendar

After restarting, open "Team Calendar Sync" and remove and re-add your calendar as follows:

  1. Navigate to "Menu" -> "Accounts" -> your account -> "Calendars" -> your calendar -> "Remove Calendar"
  2. Push "OK" to confirm that you want to remove the calendar.
  3. After removing the calendar you should be back on the "Calendars" screen. Push "+" to start the "Add Calendar" process.
  4. Complete the process to add your calendar again. This time the calendar should be created without any issues. You should be able to watch it sync from the Calendar view.
