Microsoft SharePoint WebParts

Version 3.0 compatible with Telligent Community 8.x and SharePoint 2010

Configure SharePoint

On a SharePoint farm server, navigate to Start Menu > All Programs > Microsoft SharePoint 2010 Products. Right-click SharePoint 2010 Management Shell and select Run as administrator.

Remove previous SharePointWebParts-3.x.wsp solutions

  1. Disable features in Site Collection using .\DisableFeatures.ps1 http://sharepoint
  2. In Central Administration under Manage Farm Solutions, retract previous SharePointWebParts-3.x.wsp solutions
  3. In Manage Farm Solutions, select Remove Solution

Deploy the SharePoint solution

Start the SharePoint 2010 Administration service and enter the following commands in the SharePoint 2010 Management Shell:

  1. Add the solution to SharePoint: Add-SPSolution –LiteralPath “C:\SharePointWebParts-3.x\SharePointWebParts-3.x.wsp”
  2. Activating and installing the solution: Install-SPSolution –Identity SharePointWebParts-3.x.wsp –WebApplication http://sharepoint –GACDeployment
  3. Verifying the solution has been deployed type: (Get-SPFarm).Solutions

It may take 1-3 minutes for the status to update.

Activate site collection features

Telligent Community WebParts for SharePoint have four features which must be activated for each site collection.

  • SharePoint Integration for Telligent Community 8.0
  • Telligent Community Menu Items
  • Telligent Community Search Replacement for SharePoint 2010
  • Telligent Community WebParts

Activate features in SharePoint

  • Change directories in the Management Shell to the SharePointWebParts-3.x > Scripts folder.
  • To enable all the features type: .\EnableFeatures.ps1 http://sharepoint
  • Change http://sharepoint to the URL of your SharePoint site collection.
