Contains

  • Changes in the RGB deers prefabs to match the alterations in the prefab tutorial.

Objective

Exercise the usage of prefab inheritance.

Changes

  • redDeer: has the original deer as parent and contains only the skeletalmeshand the Behavior components (assigned behavior: Behavior:critter)
  • greenDeer: has the same content of the original deer prefab, minus the Behavior component
  • blueDeer: has greenDeer as parent and contains only the skeletalmeshand the Behavior components (assigned behavior: Behavior:critter)

Usage

In the console (F1), type spawnPrefab followed by one of the new prefabs:

  • spawnPrefab redDeer
  • spawnPrefab greenDeer
  • spawnPrefab blueDeer

Tested out and merged :-)

All three deer still appear in-game, although one of them didn't do much, seemed to just stay standing. Not sure if that's intentional or a bug.

That's intended, yes - the idea is to exemplify what's happening when you inherit a prefab. I made a slight modification on the Behavior wiki earlier (briefly talking about the three inheritance scenarios) but there's more to come on the tutorial. :)
