Project Overview

MyTube is a web application designed to help users organize their favorite YouTube videos efficiently. It offers advanced features to manage, categorize, and search for saved videos, providing a more personalized and user-friendly experience compared to YouTube’s custom playlist functionality.

Features

  • Keyword Search: Search videos by aliased name and custom description keywords.
  • Tag-Based Filtering: Use tags to filter and find videos based on specific themes or topics.
  • Sort Options: Sort results by newest, alphabetical, or most recently viewed.

Navbar

  • My Videos: Displays tiles of all added videos with a search bar.
  • Profile: User account management.
  • Help: A page of general website instructions for use and navigation.

Profile

  • Information: Users can customize their account information such as their email, name, username, and password.
  • Privacy: The user profile is not public, so there is no need for avatars or a bio.
  • Theme: Users can also customize the theme from their profile settings.

Video Management

  • Alias Name: Users can assign alias names to videos for easier recall.
  • Personal Description: Users can write their own descriptions or summaries of videos to remind them of the content.
  • Tags: There is a defined list of tags, and users can add one or more tags to videos for improved searchability.
  • Notes: Users can add notes to videos, useful for jotting down thoughts, reminders, or key points. They appear in the form of comments below the video.
