Note

Some of the FusionFix menu setting preferences may shift after installing this update, due to refactored settings code. To correct this, either adjust whatever settings seem wrong manually, or delete GTAIV.EFLC.FusionFix.cfg in the plugins directory, let it get recreated, and then re-set all the new options again to your liking.

v5.1.1 changelog

  • Various stability improvements

v5.1 changelog

Graphics

  • Revamped the Console Gamma implementation, also providing PS3 Gamma as an option (Note that gamma alone doesn't restore the more vibrant look of the PS3 version) and full HLSL shader sources as reference

Scripts

  • Added a new option "Quick Save" to the in-game phone to be able to save the game anywhere
  • Fixed an issue from the previous version where cancelling out from buying glasses or hats at clothing stores would only be possible during the time they were being cycled through
  • Fixed various vendor owners stuck underground
  • Fixed an issue introduced on PC for IV, where preachers would not hold a book in their hand
  • Fixed an issue where time wouldn't advance after skipping a taxi ride journey
  • Fixed some more fps-dependencies for scripted camera events, minigames, missions, sprite drawing, etc (e.g. Darts aim shake intensity)

Code fixes and improvements

  • Added a new option "Auto Climb Ladders" to the Controls menu, this makes the player automatically climb ladders when getting close enough to them
  • Added a new option "Stunt Jump Camera" to the Controls menu, which allows disabling the cinematic camera and slow motion during a Stunt Jump
  • Added a new option "Fence Climb & Car Jack Camera" to the Controls menu, which allows disabling the cinematic camera while also climbing or jacking a car
  • Added two new .ini options to allow ragdolling on demand by pressing the R key while jumping, like in GTAV, and optionally also while climbing
  • Added an .ini option to automatically light the brakelights of the vehicle the player is driving, when stationary
  • Added an .ini option to display some memory related stats, such as for used streaming memory, virtual heap size and process-wide memory usage, alongside the FPS Counter when that is enabled; Additionally, streaming and virtual memory counters now replace the RAM counter displayed in the Graphics menu on the row for ExtraInfo, so these will show up at all times there, while the .ini option will display them all + process-wide RAM usage during gameplay
  • Added an Alternative mode to Cutscene Audio Sync, toggleable still via pressing Up in cutscenes, which should do what the vanilla game does but in reverse - anims are synced to audio only when sections change, rather than always synced to audio and become smooth when sections change, this means cutscenes would sync automatically during these ~3s pre-defined transitions, but with the downside that they would still become noticeably stuttery during those times exclusively
  • Fixed the Vehicle Camera Turn Speed slider not applying to the Y axis of the camera, significantly improving its feedback when using a high value
  • Fixed an issue where camera centering delay times would not reset automatically after loading a saved game
  • Fixed an issue where the invisible Windows mouse cursor would still work in the background to highlight desktop shortcuts in Windowed Mode
  • Removed a check which prevented the save menu from being activated while driving a vehicle, this improves the new quick-save feature from the scripts side
  • Adjusted the workaround of the resolution scaling of the map crosshair on gamepad, to be fixed properly in the future
  • Refactored and improved the code of several old and new general fixes
  • Refactored custom settings' code, fixing any minor bugs from before and opening the door for redesigns or improvements later
  • Revisited the fix for helicopter searchlights fighting if two are active at once, and added a new .ini option to either gracefully lock the light to only one helicopter, or not restrict it at all, as done in a pre-release version of the game
  • Added a new custom episodic content option to enable the death music feature for TLAD and TBoGT, but it is only meant to be used with custom death music tracks added natively to the DLCs sound archives, otherwise IV ones would still play
  • Restored missing background radio in Roman's cab depot during cutscenes
  • Fixed an issue where the date wouldn't advance after dying or getting busted between 12pm and 11pm, or respraying between 9pm and 11:59pm
  • Refactored and improved the code of several old and new fps issue fixes
  • Fixed fps-dependent water ripple particles' generation, improving performance significantly when swimming at high frame rates (The higher the frame rate, the more alpha effects were being generated, and performance gradually decreased)
  • Fixed fps-dependent water physics (e.g. This fixes the floating of buoys, and perhaps(?) an issue where boats would get slower with a higher frame rate, preventing 100% completion of a mission in TBoGT)
  • Fixed Y axis loading screen animations being fps-dependent, X axis was fine, only Y not so much
  • Fixed weapon/melee aim zoom lerping in and out faster at high frame rates
  • Properly fixed helicopter rotors' breaking times at high frame rates
  • Fixed an issue where turning off the Camera Shake option would also disable shaking of helicopter searchlights
  • Properly fixed the hood camera bumps fix at high frame rates from previous versions
  • Fixed various issues introduced in the previous version for legacy versions of the game
  • Various other code cleanups, refactors and improvements

Assets

  • Fixed some minor wording nuisances with the descriptions of Gamepad Icon options
  • Fixed more issues related to vehicle models (e.g. Police Maverick and Annihilator searchlights now get drawn at the proper position)
  • Hid more cheat numbers around the map for the cheats added in the previous version
