Color and design should be more like old site #8
The black is oppressive; the red makes it edgy in addition to not matching the style of the clients.
The old site had the right idea. The green and blue were calming and trust-inspiring, and the orangey color was appetizing. It was also dimensional instead of flat and cold. The buttons were touchable and friendly.
Change colorscheme to be more like the old site, with blue/green/grays and orange highlights

The site's main designer has no interest in changing the colour scheme, and the fonts have been changed from light face to regular. IMO, the current design looks nice, and is not an issue.
That having been said, if you want to work on a PR, I'll take a look at it, but it would have to be pretty amazing to convince us to replace the current design.
About the colors, Black / White / Red are fine too, they are used by a lot of trademarks and unless there is an official client, the unofficial one are absolutely not forced to follow the design website, just the Tox STS. Fonts are now fine and I'll consider adding a 3D effect on the download button.

It does look "nice," as in well-made, but it is not correct for its purpose. It is not a design aligned with the goals of the website, which are to encourage tech-unsavvy people to trust and download this communicator.
@installgen2 There's a lot wrong with it. It's subpar compared to the previous website. I have detailed how in the OP post and I will continue to elaborate here.
That's irrelevant. The colors are emphatically not fine. The website is dingy, morbid, and cold. I can't send my grandma to this website. It's shady-looking and doesn't at all make me want to download it.
The old website followed basic color theory and was very light and friendly-looking, and that made it incredibly effective.
