Wintergrasp as a whole, perhaps even given objects in SotA are supposed to be able to see from quite a large distance, though I cannot dictate exact measures, it's far, far larger than the standard object sighting. This issue includes all walls, and all workshops - as well as the gates.

This is correct. According to this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AIULicoW5h4 it seems to be at least maximum sight range. Notice all the walls and workshops being visible all the time. They do not 'spawn' when getting closer.

This may be a client issue but I'm not 100% sure.

The client seems to be using the camera location as the reference point for visibility and not the player character. To observe this:

  • Turn on GM mode and tele to -9449.425781, 454.439423, 52.246632 in Elwynn
    (Note: You WILL get attacked by lvl 6 defias without GM mode)
  • Turn to look into the house
  • Scroll your camera all the way out / all the way in. Notice the objects on the table fade in and out of view.

I have my "visibility" settings on the server set to 533 for all (world, BGs, arenas) and my distance sliders in-game set to "max" yet these objects fade out wihen your character clearly isn't very far away.
