fetch failed on deploy

I got pm2 deploy ecosystem.json development setup to work. It successfully created the folders on remote and cloned the git project.
When I now though run pm2 deploy ecosystem.json development I get the following error

Which seems to me like a github error. But it is very strange that this failed, because the setup worked. Any idea what the issue could be?

Yeah, I have tried on a completely different server, with a different github repo. The setup works, it can clone from git but then the fetching fails with deploy.
If I log into the server manually and do a git fetch in the same repo all works fine (using SSH keys without typing in any password or passphrase of course).

The only thing I wonder, could my folder structure be an issue?
So I have the following folder structure in my git:

/server
    - ecosystem.json
/client

So I run the pm2 deploy from a subfolder and not the root directory of my repository. But that shouldn't be an issue right?

Yes the ecosystem.json should be in the root project folder

Ok, created now a test repo here https://github.com/Globegitter/pm2-deploy-test where it is in the root folder, which still fails, just on fetching not on cloning/setup.
My last hunch is that it could be an incompatibility with Fish not sure if you know that. But anyway, will try out with bash over the next few days and update.

Ok, found out it is Fish that is incompatible. Will close this here and open a new issue looking at the code to fix it myself.
