Your GPU seems to have only 1GB of video memory. Please note that Valve suggests a video card with at least 2GB of memory. See http://store.steampowered.com/news/22000/.

DotA 2 with Vulkan reserves about 1GB on my system, but keep in mind that Windows needs some of those resources too.

A nvidia 820M is a Fermi card. nVidia's proprietary driver does not support Vulkan on Fermi.
