[HL2 EP2] demo recorded with 'closecaption 1' will CTD the game during playback with 'closecaption 0'

Easy to reproduce: just turn captions on, play any chapter, start recording and just shoot pistol; stop demo, turn captions off, playback the demo and voila. As soon as the pistol fire animation starts playing, it will crash to desktop.
It's been encountered before and mentioned in Steam forums but ignored so far.
Please fix as this affects the modding community.

This happens for more than 1 player, please just try to reproduce, it's so easy.....
