Try Forking a repos instead of pushing a full history #1

This repo created a few notifications to myself (and I'm sure a few of the original collaborators) because there exists things like @ProLoser in some of the commits.

Looking at your profile, it seems you might be new to Github and doing this with several repos.

I'm not sure why you're doing this, but have you considered pressing the "Fork" button on a repo instead? It does essentially the same thing but is much more streamlined and won't send anyone superfluous notifications. You will still be able to do whatever you want with your personal 'fork' of the repo.
