This section explains what data we collect and why we collect it.
-
Names: We store your name if you provided one during the signup process. In collaborative questions, names allow others to see who contributed what data. Names are optional though. Don't provide your name if you don't feel comfortable doing so.
-
Email: We store your email address. This allows you to reset your password if you ever lose access to your account. We also use your email address to send you invoices.
-
Data you contribute: We also store the data that you log. That includes questions, variables, and datapoints. We store that data because that's what WhyNotLog needs to function.
- Deletion: When you delete data in WhyNotLog, it's gone for good. Apps often do "soft deletion" where data isn't actually deleted, it's just not shown to the user anymore. We don't soft delete because we find that it's dishonest. When you delete a datapoint, question, or your account, it's all gone. As a result, be careful with deletion because we can't help you restore data!
If you have questions about how we handle privacy, send us an email at privacy@whynotlog.com.
