I am trying to use the latest Organon release (v0.9.9.9.4.2b, almost one year old) with current LibreOffice Still (5.2.5) on macOS X 12 , and it's quite crashy (3 crashes until I managed to load the manual, after which it crashed again). Plus the GUI has lots of glitches (menus drop down but stay open forever; every new click creates a new drop down).

The latest Organon in https://extensions.libreoffice.org/extensions/organon-1 mentions compatibility with LibreOffice 4.4. Does this mean that Organon needs to be updated for LO 5?

If so, are there plans for it to be updated?

If current Organon should work, then I guess I should be reporting bugs?

This is exactly what I came to ask too, no point in making another issue. But I love this plugin so much Im going to install LibreOffice 5.1 just for this plugin. I hope Organon is updated for the latest versions of LibreOffice.

Excellent extension. It will be great to see it working on 5.2.7.

I tried Organon with LO 5.4.0 on win7 and it seemed to work.
Mousewheel doesn't work.

If you find issues, please mention the system you're on.

It's a pity but I won't be able to have a deeper look into the problems before September

I'm having issues with this extention. Essentially it crashes Libreoffice immediately when trying to load a project. Some relevant information.

  • Arch Linux (Kernel 4.14)
  • LibreOffice version 5.4.3
  • Plugin version 0.9.9.9.4.1b

Not sure what kind of logs would help you debug this, let me know if you want me to post something

Hi:
A similar issue here. I have LibreOffice 6.0.1 and I can open Organon but get nothing but a blank box. The Organon shows up as a tab in the toolbar in LibreOffice writer, but I can only open the blank box or close it. I can also resize it. Is Organon just incompatible with the latest version or am I doing something wrong?
Thanks.

@vict0rg - It would be good to know what OS you are using, and the exact download location you got Organon from.

I've tried the OXT from both LibO Extensions and OpenOfffice Extensions. The version from the LibO site installs, but then behaves exactly as @jobardu describes. The version from AOO won't install at all, but throws this error:

(com.sun.star.uno.RuntimeException) { { Message = "<class 'NotADirectoryError'>: [Errno 20] Not a directory: '/home/david/.config/libreoffice/4/user/uno_packages/cache/uno_packages/lu10560vhb1vj.tmp_/organon-oo.oxt/py/factory.py/organon.oxt/organon_settings.json', traceback follows\X000a  File \"/usr/lib/libreoffice/program/pythonloader.py\", line 149, in writeRegistryInfo\X000a    mod = self.getModuleFromUrl( locationUrl )\X000a  File \"/usr/lib/libreoffice/program/pythonloader.py\", line 103, in getModuleFromUrl\X000a    exec(codeobject, mod.__dict__)\X000a  File \"/home/david/.config/libreoffice/4/user/uno_packages/cache/uno_packages/lu10560vhb1vj.tmp_/organon-oo.oxt/py/factory.py\", line 292, in <module>\X000a    settings_orga = get_organon_settings(path_to_extension)\X000a  File \"/home/david/.config/libreoffice/4/user/uno_packages/cache/uno_packages/lu10560vhb1vj.tmp_/organon-oo.oxt/py/factory.py\", line 108, in get_organon_settings\X000a    with codecs_open(json_pfad) as data:\X000a  File \"/usr/lib/python3.6/codecs.py\", line 897, in open\X000a    file = builtins.open(filename, mode, buffering)\X000a\X000a", Context = (com.sun.star.uno.XInterface) @0 } }

This is a valuable extension, and it would be great if @XRoemer (or some other competent and willing person!) would update it for the current LibO versions. Thanks!

I'm sorry, but due to some bigger changes in LO's code I would have to rewrite a lot. And I've got too much work at the moment. So the development of Organon is paused for unforeseeable time.

The most recent version can be found here: https://github.com/XRoemer/Organon/releases
