Is there anyone else experiencing this issue ??

Please have a look at the javascript console and check what errors this displays. Fix any and all which don't relate to WPSEO and report any which do.

"I'm www.example.co / categories / sports"

As in the example at the address on my site meta description tag does not work!

However, the keywords meta tag works!

Administrators can deal with it?

same issue, nothing to do with javascript, the meta name description tag and the open graph description tag are missing from the head in the html SOURCE CODE of all category pages.

Sounds like the original problem wasn't outlined clearly enough. It was talking about the 'metabox'. If I understand correctly now, you are saying that the back-end is fine, the metabox to change the SEO info in admin for categories and such is showing, but that the result is not showing in your page headers on the front end. Is that correct ?

@musadosol Thank you for that, that was very helpful. I believe I have fixed it now and have send in pull request #793 with the changes. Would you be willing to test this ?

works for the meta name description, but still no open graph description (og:description) though. The other open graph tags do work for me.

@jrfnl Thanks İts Works

@3mr350 Thanks for confirming.

@musadosol That's strange as I tested it with OG as well and it worked for me. Can you give me some more info to figure out the path the logic is taking ?

  • Is this a tag / category / custom taxonomy for which it's not working ?
  • Have you set a template for that taxonomy in WPSEO -> Metas & Titles -> Taxonomies -> description ? If so, what is it ?
  • Have you set a (normal) description for that taxonomy ?
  • Have you set an SEO description for that taxonomy ?
