@Glark

Sometime after 1.5.2.2 custom fields in the titles stopped working in the "Snippet Preview" and "SEO Title" fields in the General tab of the SEO Yoast box on posts.

In 1.5.2.2: Restaurant Bores - Top Chef - Previously.TV
In 1.5.2.5: Restaurant Bores - %%cf_primary_cat_name%% - Previously.TV

Silly question: Does a meta field named primary_cat_name exist for that particular post ?

@Glark

Not a silly question but yes that (and all posts on that site) have that custom field defined. I've seen other reports of this on WP's forum and here (but in hijacked issues) and it's something that's happened since 1.5.2.2

I know a change was made which in effect causes the %%cf_....%% replacements only to be run on singular items (i.e. pages, posts, media, cpts). But that shouldn't cause the problem as you are using it for a singular item....

This needs some investigating.

And yes, I've seen similar items on the WP forums as well:
http://wordpress.org/support/topic/since-152-custom-title-messed-up
http://wordpress.org/support/topic/warning-seo-title-messed-up-v152

@Glark

BTW I have a live and dev server going with same issue on both (reverted live server to 1.5.2.2 for now but dev is on 1.5.2.5) so let me know if I can test anything there to troubleshoot.
