A clear and concise description of what the bug is.

I have noticed intermittent visual issues in the Vulkan renderer in sectors that have movement. Sometimes they will hold steady for a while, but they may resolve themselves after some more time in game, and they may not persist through loading a savegame.

Some geometry which is visible from outside a sector, or perhaps the geometry of the sector itself, may not be visible. Inside the sector the outside world is not rendered - only the geometry of the sector and objects are visible. Everything else appears pure black.

Areas where I've spotted this problem:

  • The rotating magazine rack that lowers to reveal a fortune cookie secret in $bullet, found in the Game Parlor area, secret triggered by the ATM in the corner. Stepping inside the secret sector causes all the outside world to render pure black.
  • The overhead drill leading to the exit of $dozer. The entire drill disappeared and a black hole was left in its place. Stepping inside, the sector (leading to the exit) was visible, but not things outside it.
  • The big boat (covered with barrels of fireworks) bobbing next to a dock in $boat

I've got a savegame at the problem place in $boat but it loads fine.

This happens to me with the drills when I load the autosave on $newmine (Coolie Mines). If I save during the level, and load that save, all the drills show up properly.

Here's my autosave from the level, and a save made from within the level.

Can I confirm whether this is a Vulkan issue, or does it happen in OpenGL as well? There was the mention of Vulkan in the OP but don't want to go down the wrong path.

I just did a quick test, and it happens in OpenGL and OpenGL ES as well as Vulkan.

I don't even know where to begin on this one...

Can confirm your autosave doesn't work, however when I warp straight to $newmine, it's fine. When I play $refiner (previous map) and finish it, its also fine.

I haven't been able any of the reported problems so far. There have been issues with sector objects in savegames in the past but they were fixed over two months ago. Right now I have no idea.

I have been playing through Blood map packs recently in Raze v1.8.1 and encountered objects/environment not being displayed properly. Quicksaving and quickloading sorts it out. Examples:
