Sculk Wrath — Warden Boss Overhaul

Overview

Sculk Wrath is a complete Warden boss overhaul datapack that transforms the Warden into a 4-phase boss fight with custom attacks, boss bar, music, configurable drops, and dramatic animations.

Installation

Datapack

  1. Copy the datapack folder contents into your world's datapacks folder
  2. Alternatively, place as a zip in the datapacks folder
  3. Run /reload in-game or restart the world

Resource Pack

  1. Copy the resourcepack folder into your .minecraft/resourcepacks folder
  2. Enable it in the Resource Packs menu

Configuration

In-Game Config

Run /function sculk_wrath:config to open the interactive configuration menu. All toggles are clickable and save per-world.

File-Based Config

Edit data/sculk_wrath/function/initialize_storage.mcfunction to change default values.

⚠️ DO NOT change the initialized value — this is used by the pack to detect first-time setup.

Fight Phases

Phase 1: The Stalker (500 HP)

The Warden awakens. It stalks players with enhanced senses.

  • Sonic Boom: Charged sonic blast dealing 15 damage
  • Sculk Tendrils: Ground particles that slow and damage
  • Darkness Pulse: Periodic darkness effect waves
  • Boss bar color: Blue

Phase 2: The Fury (500 HP)

When Phase 1 health reaches 0, the Warden heals and enters Phase 2.

  • Ground Pound: AoE slam with knockback
  • Sculk Wave: Line of damage toward players
  • Summon Minions: Spawns sculk silverfish
  • All Phase 1 attacks with increased frequency
  • Boss bar color: Yellow

Phase 3: The Rampage (500 HP)

The Warden becomes faster and more aggressive.

  • Charge Attack: Speed-boosted dash toward players
  • Sculk Eruption: Area explosion with wither effect
  • Seismic Slam: Falling blocks and screen shake
  • Speed and attack buffs
  • Boss bar color: Red

Phase 4: Sculk Storm (500 HP — Final)

The final stand. The Warden unleashes everything.

  • Sculk Storm: Continuous particle rain with lightning
  • Enraged Roar: Massive AoE damage + blindness
  • Soul Drain: Pulls players + wither + warden heals
  • Maximum stats, all attacks at highest frequency
  • Boss bar color: Purple
  • This is the only phase where the Warden can actually die!

Total Fight Health: 2000 HP (4 × 500)

Commands

/function sculk_wrath:config Open configuration menu
/function sculk_wrath:load Reload the datapack

Anti-Cheese Mechanics

  • Mace + Density: Warden gains resistance when hit by mace with Density
  • Burst Damage Protection: Single hits over 100 damage trigger resistance
  • No Bedrock Trapping: Works underground naturally
  • Auto-Cleanup: Pack automatically cleans up on reload

Compatibility

  • Minecraft Version: 1.21+ (Java Edition)
  • Multiplayer: Fully supported, scales with player count

Troubleshooting

Q: The boss bar doesn't appear? A: Make sure the warden was naturally spawned (via sculk shrieker). The pack auto-detects wardens.

Q: The pack broke after a crash? A: Simply /reload — the pack auto-cleans up on reload. No fix command needed!
