Hello sir, please accept my order

Edit: including final ballot for readability from elections

Ballot Proposal: Zcash Foundation on Monetary Policy

Proposed ballot entry:

The Foundation should be open to discussing changes to monetary policy and/or supply schedule.

- Agree
- Disagree

Point-Counterpoint on Each Choice

As we all know, 20% is a large amount of terminal tax. At the beginning of the economy in 2019, more taxes were levied on more people. Dev had an excellent ZEC team so he could extend all 210.000 ZECs. Both sides of the exhibition and Dev ZEC did not pump and dump at 2020.

I am very sorry for the bad English. I hope this plan will work.

Could this be detrimental to projects in the near future? Pinging someone who understands the company's financial situation regarding development expenditures (otherwise its a pretty cool idea)

This is another good example of "tough questions" for ZFo. But as it's phrased now, it also seems mostly out of scope for our first governance experiment. If there's unanimous agreement, it doesn't clarify what it is the Foundation should do in response. IMO there's a potential future where ZFo uses governance process to makes decisions that ultimately lead to hardfork upgrades and policy changes. Right now, we don't really have the resources to threaten a hardfork ZCo disagrees with. ZcashFoundation/#67 discusses some of this.

I can think of three possible ways to progress on this now though:

  1. A general question about whether ZFo should be discussing changes to the monetary policy, founder's reward, or whether we should regard such things off limits and set in stone.
  2. A question about whether ZFo should put effort into building the influence to bring about such forks. This is closely related to our ability to posture regarding ASIC resistance PoW-change forks too.
  3. A poll on basically whether this particular suggested change is a good idea, irrespective of 1 and 2. This specific change seems to have the effect of stretching out the founder's reward so that the incentive effects last longer but are reduced in magnitude, while otherwise leaving the monetary policy in tact.

I simplified the ballot to capture the intent in simplest terms, thanks for the ballot @zkpoof!
