Clarify whether funding attribution is public #448
Users may not expect that their funding contributions will be publicly attributed to them by default.

As a user, what I wanted, and expected when not clicking that checkbox, is that the contribution will be privately associated with my account, to facilitate refunds, in a way that's visible only to the Zcash Foundation. While I do want to be refunded if the project never starts, I am not interested in my donations becoming publicly visible.
You should get users' explicit confirmation before publicly revealing their financial transactions (in this case, a donation). They may want to protect their privacy, or they may want to go public to signal their approval of the project or generosity or whatever. It's their call, and it should not be penalized by loss of refunds if the project doesn't get funded.

This is definitely one of the more sensitive areas of the grant system. I'll loop in the Foundation so we can think about this a bit more and determine next steps.
