At your PC

Install ADTPro 2.0.2

Download https://github.com/oliverschmidt/contiki/releases/download/3.0/contiki-apple2.zip

Extract contiki-apple2.po and place it in the ADTPro disks directory

Go to the ADTPro disks directory, rename Virtual.po to something else and contiki-apple2.po to Virtual.po

Run adtpro.bat from the ADTPro directory

Click on the Ethernet icon

At your Apple II

Make the disk image VDRIVE-2.0.2.DSK on the PC in the ADTPro disks directory accessible from your Apple II

Run VEDRIVE.SETUP and enter the IP address given on the PC in the ADTPro window title

Run VEDRIVE and check that it successfully obtains an IP address from your DHCP server

Enter CAT,S1

You should hear a click for every 512 byte ProDOS block transferred by VEDRIVE

You should see a lengthy directory listing

Quit BASIC.SYSTEM (by entering BYE)

From the ProDOS selector run ETHCONFI.SYSTEM

Choose Uthernet II

Choose the slot of your Uthernet II

From the ProDOS selector run IPCONFIG.SYSTEM

Choose Request IP address

You should see the same IP address previously seen when running VEDRIVE

Choose Save & close

From the ProDOS selector run WEBBROWS.SYSTEM

Select the address bar and enter www.retrosystems.com

You should see the a2RetroSystems home page

Choose the link Products in the web page

You should see the a2RetroSystems product page

Press Ctrl-C

From the ProDOS selector run TELNETD.SYSTEM

At your PC

Connect to the IP address given on the Apple II using a Telnet client, i.e. PuTTY in Telnet(!) mode

You should see a Contiki> prompt

Enter wget www.a2retrosystems.com | write a2

Note that at this point your Apple II uses three connections simultaneously !

  • To your Telnet client (managed by Contiki)
  • To the a2RetroSystems web server (managed by Contiki)
  • To the ADTPro Virtual Disk server (managed by VEDRIVE)

Enter ls .

You should see a file named A2

Enter read a2

You should see the a2RetroSystems home page HTML source code

Enter rm a2

Enter exit

Remark

The simultaneous connections of Contiki and VEDRIVE are possible because both follow the W5100 Shared Access conventions.
