Welcome to the GitHub organization of the ACDC Research Group at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney.
The ACDC Research Group focuses on advanced photovoltaic (PV) research and development at UNSW Sydney, one of the world's leading universities in solar cell research and renewable energy technologies.
Visit our official website for more information about our research, team, publications, and projects:
Our research group is dedicated to advancing photovoltaic technology through:
- Development of advanced characterisation techniques for photovoltaic materials and devices across the full production chain, with a strong focus on photoluminescence-based methods.
- Pioneering and extending photoluminescence imaging, hyperspectral micro-photoluminescence, two-photon absorption spectroscopy, and temperature-dependent measurements over wide temperature ranges.
- World-leading defect and lifetime characterisation in silicon wafers and solar cells, including unique capabilities at metal–silicon interfaces.
- Characterisation of emerging and non-silicon photovoltaic materials, including perovskites, thin-film technologies, and tandem solar cells, in close collaboration with industry.
- Application of machine learning to photovoltaic diagnostics, performance optimisation, plant operation, and end-of-life decision-making.
- Research on passivating contacts, novel interfaces, and photovoltaic applications including agriPV, BIPV, IoT power, and beta-voltaic devices.
We welcome collaboration and inquiries from researchers, industry partners, and students interested in photovoltaic research.
