Demo site mostly broken #85
Comments
Thanks for reporting, but I haven't access to demo hosting so I can't fix it. I don't know what previous developer has the access |
timcharper? :) |
I just dug up a super-old revision of the README -- the original authors are Scott Rutherford (scott@caronsoftware.com), Richard White (rrwhite@gmail.com), Lance Ivy (lance@cainlevy.net), and Ed Moss. |
Richard White owns the domains -- he's probably the one who's hosting it. |
I have tried to contact him |
The demo isn't working at all. |
The demo site is completely down! |
Yeah..I don't understand why it's been down for so long. It was well done too! |
domain and hosting is owned by Richard White but I can't contact with him |
activescaffold.com is up, but the demo is broken. |
why don't just remove that link from the project description? It's misleading and that demo, it's worth for a museum (it's not even the gem, it's a rails 1 plugin! and that code is not on github, it's on googlecode since github didn't exist back then! no jquery, no assets, it was a galaxy far far away! 🚀 ) |
I can't access to admin page, actually I can't access any other page than home |
Still on error page the demo. +1 for the fix. |
Do you have any intention to resurrect the project website (and its demo) with the original domain name (activescaffold.com) or a new one (activescaffold.info or something like that)? Do you think the dead link on github page and readme file can be removed (at least until a new website is available)? |
I would like to do that, but I'm alone here and lots of another tasks to do (more testing, rdoc, threadsafe, some samples or demo) I can't reuse original domain because it's registered by a previous developer and I don't get answer from him. I'm open to collaboration. |
There are 3 models on the demo site:
users
,permissions
, androles
.Only roles is still working ( http://demo.activescaffold.com/roles ) -- the rest give redirect loops if you go to their pages (eg: http://demo.activescaffold.com/users ), and 404s if you try to view the associations (on the
roles
page). The text was updated successfully, but these errors were encountered:
