Adam,

Thanks for putting out the super awesome grid-coordinates framework.

I'm having a whale of a time getting it to run with Rails 3.1. Confession: I'm terribly undereducated on Sass, Compass, and the Rails 3.1 asset pipeline to boot. This makes me the worst candidate for troubleshooting this setup.

You would be my hero if you could quickly add a rails 3.1 example to the repo. Or post it to a blog. Or wherever.

I wish I was knowledgeable enough to do this myself and submit a decent patch! I've already spent several hours hacking around on this and ended up tired and frustrated.

Thanks,

Marshall

Thanks Marshall. Glad it's something you can make use of.

I'm not against this pull request exactly, but adding an entire Rails app just to illustrate an example seems a bit overkill. Instead of providing examples like this, it might make better sense to document how to use grid coordinates with various setups, for example Rails 3.1, Nesta, etc.

I guess I just think of it like this, you have to integrate Sass and Compass to use grid coordinates, so adding it to your project is just adding a Compass extension to your project once Sass and Compass are in place.

Regarding Rails 3.1, here's a setup Gist with loads of comments from @chriseppstein https://gist.github.com/1184843. Check that out and let me know if it's helpful.

Regarding this pull request, I appreciate it, but I'm not sure adding this code to the repo is best way to illustrate integration.

Adam,

Thanks for the gist!

That helps out with a few of the bits, but I'm still getting stuck with
the asset pipeline compiler not being able to find compass.

rake aborted!
File to import not found or unreadable: compass/reset.
Load path:

Sass::Rails::Importer(/Users/myount/Projects/compass_test/app/assets/styles
heets/application.css.scss)
(in
/Users/myount/Projects/compass_test/app/assets/stylesheets/application.css.
scss)

Tasks: TOP => assets:precompile
(See full trace by running task with --trace)

I'm sure that I have missed a step in the install process somewhere. I'll
follow up with the Compass guys and take another crack at this later.

Marshall are you still stuck on this? There's been tons of movement in the Sass/Compass/Rails 3.1 space ...
