This open source sample code repository contains Arduino sketches for a variety of gardening, hydroponic and personal cultivation applications specific to Adosia's BluPonix SPACE IO Shield.

Bluponix is part of an open hardware IO platform initiative enabling anyone to easily create a variety of useful personal plant watering and garden or hydroponic cultivation systems. The SPACE shield is designed to be pin compatible with the popular open hardware Arduino Uno R3 and Wemos D1 microcomputer controller boards.

DIY Hydroponic Snake

This is repository contains software for a hydroponics snake that uses the two 12V pumps channels to deliver water from a reservoir through snaked pvc piping, where gravity allows the water to return to the reservoir. Relay 1 kicks in on water level low, relay 2 kicks in when level switch 2 low (dog bowl). . Both relay outputs are each connected to open respective solenoid water valves.

BluPonix SPACE IO Board Features:

  • x2 diode-protected transistor switch channels to safely drive pumps or solenoids

  • x2 digital IO pins tied to 4.7kΩ pullups (ie, water level switch or temperature sensor)

  • x2 digital IO pins tied to dual 5V relays (15A @ 120VAC or 10A @ 240VAC)

  • up to x4 analog ports (x3 expandable with Arduino Uno), bright onboard RGB LED

  • breakout voltage supply headers providing 2x GND, 2x 3.3v, 2x 5v and 2x Vin
