Lately when installing on Mojave or High Sierra, I run this:

jupyter contrib nbextension install --user

and see this error:

Error executing Jupyter command 'contrib': [Errno 2] No such file or directory

The solution I've been using is to run this manually:

pip install jupyter_contrib_nbextensions

I'm not sure if something changed in the jupyter package or what. Maybe update requirements.txt?

Thanks for your feedback @createthis , I decided to drop the notebook extensions, they were optional anyway, and mostly used to add a table of contents, but I don't think many people really used it and it added some extra maintenance effort and installation instructions. I removed it from requirements.txt but it seems I didn't remove every reference to it, my apologies, I'll do that now.
