When hitting the failure conditional, all I get is something like:

[2012-03-12 15:35:31] ERROR:  ** [Airbrake] Failure: Net::HTTPBadGateway
[2012-03-12 15:35:31] INFO: ** [Airbrake] Environment Info: [Ruby: 1.9.3] [Rails: 3.1.4] [Env: staging]
[2012-03-12 15:35:31] INFO: ** [Airbrake] Response from Airbrake:
...

This should probably include the exception or notice that originally was supposed to be sent to airbrake so that we can debug causes of failure even when airbrake is down/unresponsive

Heya Ian,

This is a known problem with the api.. Scaling issues on our end.. The good news is that we have a solution. We completely restructured the backend and our taking users onto our new system..

Just let me know when you have switched your config vars and I'll transfer you over if this sounds good to you.

My IM is stuartchaney22@gmail.com if you have any quick fire questions.

Cheers

Stu

Even if you're improving your availability, there still may be cases when Airbrake isn't available. I'm currently hitting a timeout at this same point. No idea what's causing it. For these other cases it'd be much better to log the error rather than hiding it.
