Does it mean the recommended version of node is 0.6.x, not 0.8? If so, shouldn't it be stated in the README?

The Cloud9 OpenSource version works perfectly with node 0.8 as well

Thanks. Side note: is there a "Cloud9 Closed Source version" that really diverge from the open source version? We don't see much commits those days.

Yes, there is a hosted closed source Cloud9 version. However, it doesn't diverge much from this version.
We are just re-architecting and refactoring to a simpler and more concrete implementation, then we will be pumping commits again on here.

@mostafaeweda Is there any news on this refactor? It has been 3 months without any commits and there are some major bugs that I hoped would have been fixed by now.

It's a big software. So, the rafactor hasn't been finished yet.
I expect 6 more months before any major edits to this repository
