RANCID Scripts

This repo contains various scripts that I have modified from the RANCID sources to make them work with various network devices.

Nortel Passport

passlogin: A script borrowed from the blogin script in RANCID. Allows logins to Nortel Passport/ERS devices.

passrancid: A replacement for 'brancid' that performs the backups for Nortel Passport/ERS devices.

NOTE: The devices and versions of software I have tested this script on are:

    Nortel ERS8600 - SW: 4.1.3.0        
    Nortel ERS8300 - SW: 4.2.2.2
                         4.2.3.11

Nortel Ethernet Switches

nortellogin: A script borrowed from the blogin script in RANCID. Allows logins to Nortel Ethernet Switch devices.

nortelrancid: A replacement for 'brancid' that performs the backups for Nortel Ethernet Switch devices.

NOTE: The devices and versions of software I have tested these scripts on are:

Nortel ES 460/470 - FW: 3.6.0.7 SW: 3.7.6.01
Nortel ES 5510/5520 - FW: 6.0.0.18 SW: 6.3.3.041

The caveat here is that you MUST load the secure image so that you can tell the switch to disable the menus:

cmd-interface cli

Also you must disable the login banner:

banner disabled

After that, normal username/password logins should work just fine.
