When testing version 1.2.1 the print head crashes into the print bed when using Z-offset. I've got mine set at 3.32mm. First layer is set to 0.4mm, but layer hight is 0.2mm. Since my PrintInZ plate is higher than that it's good I have springs underneath ;)

It goes straight down and then up again before doing the first XY move. This can be seen in the g-code:
G1 Z0.200 F9600.000
G1 Z3.720 F9600.000

The same STL file slices as expected in 1.1.7

@atleberg, can you provide full configuration? File -> Export config

@alexrj Bugfix: a move below z_offset was performed when retract_lift was ena…
…bled and lift amount was less than z_offset. Includes regression test. #2349
alexrj commented Nov 9, 2014

I found one case where this could happen, it was not covered by a unit test. I now fixed it and added a regression test.

However, I still ask you to provide your configuration so that I can check whether your case is different or this fix is enough. Thank you.

Yes, I confirm this case is fixed.

Workaround until I release 1.2.2 is to disable lift on retraction.
