I found this project, and it looks like something I'd find quite helpful... however, I'm still using MacOS 10.6, and it doesn't build there. I'm wondering if it might be possible to back-port it?
I took a look, but I'm not so familiar with the differences that the new ARC system puts in place, and also not familiar with this code, so I seem to be missing steps in the backport. I'll maybe keep trying, but I thought I'd put a request in, too. If you could backport to 10.6 (and/or earlier, but that's as early as I need), that'd be great!
Ok. I completely missed this issue. Sorry. However not sure I can be of much help. My skillz for pre-ARC Mac OS X programming are very limited. I guess what needs to be done is to turn off ARC int the compilation settings and then start handling all the release calls manually. Did 10.6 have the API for monitoring changes in the file system? It came sort of around when Spotlight was introduced.
