The old print tracking technique is no longer possible with Universal analytics – there is no utm.gif image to load within a print stylesheet. Stats show that this wasn’t tracking many print pageviews, and very few prints ever occurred via Chrome.

A newer print tracking approach is being used which is provided by the front end toolkit. That approach is based on media query listeners and only works in modern browsers (tracking will mostly be from Chrome), but where it has already been used it has collected 20x more attempts to print.

Bump toolkit to 3.3.0 to pickup print intent pageview tracking:
