I'm trying to use your plugin on a project I'm working on only I've hit an odd problem.
The code I'm working with is at http://jacq.freehostia.com/esavvy/data.html . The table is set to be resizable with jqueryUI, the column headers with your plugin, and the div inside the td's is styled with white-space: nowrap;
If I rermove the nowrap, the columns can resize. If I leave the nowrap there, the columns can't resize until you click and drag to re-size the table first. After you resize the table any amount, the columns resize just fine.
Any idea how I can get the columns to resizable before the user resizes the table?
The column can be re-sized down after the table has been re-sized.
If I take off nowrap, then text-overflow: ellipsis; doesn't "work", the text wraps instead of getting cut off. For this project it has to be that the text gets cut off and has '...' at the end if it does. Right now that only happens after the table is re-sized, but I need it to also happen before the table is re-sized.
The ellipsis are just a line of css (I set overflow hidden in the css as well). Re-sizing the table is the jqueryUI re-size function. I did notice that if I try to drag a column then drag the table, the column "jumps" as if it's finally showing the re-size of the column (meaning it'll probably confuse users so I need to fix it).
Yeah, it's definitely an interesting combination. I'm now sure how to programatilcally cause the jqueryUI re-size to run. I wouldn't mind doing it if I could figure out how to. Any thoughts on that?
Thank you, and it's no problem, I figured you would know more about your plugin than I do. Other than this issue it works wonderfully.
Never mind, setting $("table").width($("table").width()); (setting the table it's own width) causes the whole thing to work perfectly.
Thank you for you help, I don't think I would have thought of that otherwise :)
Yeah, things working tends to make clients happy.
The plugin in natively supporting sounds great, good luck with it!
