I would like to request a feature for Anchor to automatically generate "sitemap.xml" file in the root of the site, and regenerate the file each time a new post/page is added, but only when it's set as "published".

It's a basic SEO thing allowing web crawlers to quickly index the site, spot changes, etc.

At the moment, the only way to get a working sitemap, is to use a static sitemap generator, then upload it manually to the server.

I think this would fit well as a plugin rather than a stock feature as it's not a 100% necessary in all cases.

Great idea, on both points. Would be a perfect plugin.

Just the sound of a 'SEO plugin' seems too hefty. Google Author? Do you mean Analytics? Because thats been catered for in global custom fields in the dev branch. And Webmaster tools can be all managed from its own admin area.

Keeping plugins small and focused is the best approach.

I agree with David, just a sitemap plugin should be enough for this feature.

I hate plugins that try to do everything, as they're difficult to maintain and debug.

I've added this to the forum discussion. Most of these plugins I will try and create for everyone to explorer and create new ones.

If you want sitemap support for 0.9.2, I've made a little "hack". Check it out: https://github.com/lsmoura/anchorcms-sitemap

I copied the referenced code in a referenced place in file. When and where will generate a file?

@cebreus If you've used Sitemap-Anchor then it will be accessible through http://yoursite.com/sitemap.xml (obviously replacing yoursite.com). You can edit the URL to suite your needs on line 1 of the script.

@cebreus No problem! - The generated XML file will grab your latest content on request which is also great for SEO. :)
