    This assumes you're using proper tag objects (although too few people
    have any idea how to tag properly in git).  Once you do, you can do
    something like this:
    
    git htmlchangelog `git tag | egrep -v rc\|pre` > changelog.html
    
    I don't have it automatically figure out what tags represent proper
    releases because that various too much across my projects.
