When pressing the button nothing happens. Tested on Win7 with QGIS 2.6.1.

In Ubuntu 14.04 that I'm using it works. On Mavericks OSX it actually threw an exception "no module named qgscolorbutton". Need to investigate. Not sure if it's the same problem in Windows and Mac, but I should probably replace the color selector with something more standard such as: http://qt-project.org/doc/qt-4.8/qcolordialog.html

OK, so on my Windows virtual machine it also can't find the qgscolorbutton module and throws an exception.
It's strange @anitagraser that for you it doesn't show an error.. it could be there is two things going on, but could it also be that something mutes the exception in your machine. Idk. Will create a commit that uses the qcolordialog and we'll see if this fixes it for you too.

On my Win8 machine, I do get the qcolordialog error. Anyway, still needs fixing :-)
