Poor Appearence of Diagrams with Dark Mode

Dark mode is enabled on my laptop, and it's great to see that the dev guide supports this. However the git branch diagrams do not appear very readable in this configuration. We should check all images are legible in both light and dark mode.

Hi @da1910, thanks for opening this.

It is not possible to change the color of the diagrams depending on the theme selected by user. However, we can always force a white background on those. What do you think about this solution?
