After I've:

  • Downloaded tarball from redis-stable
  • unpacked tarball
  • cd redis-stable
  • run "make test" (no errors, see output below)
  • I cannot install, have tried following commands:
    • make
    • sudo make install
    • sudo make
Results === cd src && make all
  • cd src && make all
Results === "Hint: To run 'make test' is a good idea ;)"
  • (still in src/) sudo make
Results === "Hint: To run 'make test' is a good idea ;)"
  • (still in src/) make all
Results === "Hint: To run 'make test' is a good idea ;)"

That's the only response I get, "Hint: To run 'make test' is a good idea ;)"

Final output from "make test":

               The End

\o/ All tests passed without errors!

Cleanup: may take some time... OK

I have the same problem.

Seems like a non-issue. This is not an error message. Try redis-server - it works.

I don't quite get what your problem is. What are you expecting to happen and could you please explain why it isn't? Are redis binaries not installed?

I was expecting some more output as well ... but the comment above about this being a "non issue" seems right. "redis-server" as a command just works.
