Keka keeps requiring access each time application is used

High Sierra 10.13.4, mid-2011 iMac. Keka version 1.1.0.

Was requested to update over the past 24 hours and now program continues to ask to grant access to same drive over and over again each time it is opened.

Cannot make it stop. Is there a fix or is something setup improperly.

And not to complain, but my eyesight is pretty crap already, and these new bright colors are stinging my retina. Is there any way to bring back the option for darker colors? All of these different oranges and purples are really confusing as well...

Hi @amazingrobie! There's nothing to change in the preferences. Just follow the instructions. Be sure you're giving Keka access to the main disk, the one that has macOS installed.

But I'm assuming you already did that, so my recommendation is:

1. Close Keka if open
2. Remove the disk access following this steps
3. Restart your Mac
4. Give Keka access again

Be sure you close Keka properly, since it needs to release the disk access each time it closes. Otherwise macOS can ban Keka this access, so Keka will need to ask for it again until the machine restarts.

If the above does not help, take a look at the Console.app to see the logs filtered by "Keka" and execute this on the terminal and let me know what those says:

Sorry very about that. I've received some feedback about the icons already, I might consider some changes. If you use the web version you can replace it manually, no easy way.

Did not find anything in Console app.

Below is what was received from Terminal command and its still situation after revoking/granting access and rebooting.

Can we have a direct link to the previous version of Keka to reinstall? We've been using it pretty heavily as of late and this having to repeatedly give access each time is really inhibiting workflow. Unfortunately, we already deleted the one from the trash, otherwise we would just use it.

If you will keep trying to solve this, please activate the default verbose mode and let me know what the Console.app says. This will help a lot.

Sure @amazingrobie, when you find the time. Here a test version that might fix this or at least give some more information (in the Console.app): Keka-1.1.0r2729.zip

Also removing the Keka preferences might help: rm -R ~/Library/Containers/com.aone.keka

Hi this latest version of keka seems broken on High Sierra. I've never had ANY issues with Keka before and have recommended it and even purchased it for my employees.
But this version is soooooo exasperating. It continuously asks for file permissions. Doesn't remember settings... and worst of all can't DECOMPRESS anything. When I try it gives IO errors and then DELETES the zip/rar/whatever permanently without even putting it in the TRASH!!!!

Argh. I'd like to go back to the last version. It worked. Period.

I had the APP STORE VERSION. Uninstalled it. DIDN'T HELP
I reinstalled it. DIDN'T HELP
I removed the prefs (rm -rf ~/Library/Containers/com.aone.keka/). BINGO!

Now we're back in business.

@petergi (and @amazingrobie) I found a bug that did not removed a bad access bookmark, meaning that If for any reason Keka needed to ask permission again, was not saving that new access, so each time was asking for it. I'm updating this ASAP.

The version posted above (Keka-1.1.0r2729.zip) has this fixed.
