The
Extensionsstruct was added in #18739 but there's been some pushback against its introduction into the public API. Since nothing is currently using it I am reverting it to be a private implementation detail. I think it's still worth keeping as a whole, it encapsulates the weirdness of using types as keys and pulls it out of the already large `SessionConfig.
