Druid supports two supported `inputSpec` formats:

#### Interval `inputSpec`:
#### Interval `inputSpec`

|Field|Description|Required|
|-----|-----------|--------|
|`type`|Task type. Should be `interval`|Yes|
|`interval`|Interval to compact|Yes|

#### Segments `inputSpec`:
|Field|Description|Required|
|-----|-----------|--------|
|`type`|Task type. Should be `interval`|Yes|
|`interval`|Interval to compact|Yes|

|Field|Description|Required|
|-----|-----------|--------|
|`type`|Task type. Should be `segments`|Yes|
|`segments`|A list of segment IDs|Yes|
#### Segments `inputSpec`

|Field|Description|Required|
|-----|-----------|--------|
|`type`|Task type. Should be `segments`|Yes|

### Compaction dimensions spec
You can optionally use the `dimensionsSpec` object to configure the dimensions of the compacted segments.
