Could we have overrides for the definitions of stages?

We have much more loosely defined stages in each of our accounts than just development, staging, production.

I'd like to have a list of definable stage names.

Yep definitely at some point, not super high priority I think (unless a lot of people feel they need this) but I'd definitely like to support it. Maybe around 0.5.0 or 0.6.0.

Worth mentioning that one option is to change the name in a branch as well, giving you a clean slate for personal work etc. A bit hacky but it should work.

feedback: This would be awesome. We have a staging environment per every feature that is been worked on.

Would be good to override development as the primary stage when running up to be production say.

At work we toggle stages via AWS account numbers via AWS_PROFILEs.
