One goal is to deploy to other platforms, for now AWS will be the focus, however its guts are abstracted. Happy to hear what people would like to see!

What would you use?

I just came from Google App Engine. You don't want to go that way.

I did a comparison of AWS, Google Cloud Functions, and Azure Functions a while ago. Azure Functions seems to be the most far along - by a longshot. Google are getting there, but pretty much everything is alpha quality. Whereas Azure Functions already has the things Google Functions promises, as well as integration with all the other Azure services. I'm surprised more people aren't behind the Azure Functions bandwagon.

Because Microsoft does a really poor job of advertising and promoting it imo

FWIW we can deploy to non-FaaS as well, that would actually be preferred, I just know Lambda well so I went with that first. Azure's ACI stuff looked like a pretty good fit too.
